I’ve been getting all the Fall feels lately. Jeans {my new favorite brand} and light sweaters {this one is my absolute new favorite}, cute booties and cooler weather has me saying, “bring on fall”!

This apple pie steel cut oats recipe that’s made in the pressure cooker is pretty much the cherry on top to all of the above. It’s warm and inviting and makes you want to light a candle and curl up with a good book.

Steel cut oats can be a bit time consuming to make. But when we introduce basically the hottest appliance out there, we can whip up a big batch of chewy oats in no time.

Easiest apple pie steel cut oats

First we must start with good quality steel cut oats. I opted for these from Bob’s Red Mill. Their texture is spot-on. Plus the fact that they’re made from only the best wholesome ingredients makes me happy to serve them to Burken and {well mainly} myself.

Steel cut oats are also great for a healthy breakfast. They are less processed than traditional rolled oats and will take longer to digest. So you can eat these apple pie steel cut oats in the morning and stay full until lunch.

Take the pressure off

I love my pressure cooker! If you don’t have one yet, you need to order one right after you read this post.

It’s faster than a slow cooker. Allows you to put frozen food into it after work and still have a meal on the table in under an hour. It can make anything from soups and stews to sauteed veggies, to these incredible apple pie steel cut oats.

All you have to do is add the oats, cashew {or almond} milk, diced apple, some pure maple syrup and spices. Give it a stir and you’re ready to put the lid on the pressure cooker.

Set the timer for 5 minutes and walk away. That’s how incredible this pressure cooker is. No more watching your oats cook, or having to stir them over the stovetop.

What you’re left with is the most decadent tasting bowl of apple pie oats that you’ll want to eat on repeat.

The steel cut oats impart a slightly nutty texture, and are perfectly chewy after they come out of the pressure cooker. The apples are softened nicely without being mushy. Oh, and that apple pie spice flavor will just knock you off your feet!

  4. Wait 5 minutes {maybe a bit more to get it up to pressure}
