The Best At Home Workout Plan to Help You Reach Your Weight Loss Goals

Earlier this week we talked about 5 simple tips to help you get back on track. What does that mean though if you’re someone who struggles with sticking to a routine, or maybe doesn’t like going to the gym?

Thank goodness for an at home workout plan that can totally help with both staying motivated and avoiding the gym.

At home workout plan: but first, my fitness journey

I’d like to consider myself a fitness junkie. I was a dancer when I was younger, up until college. Then was off and on in college in terms of working out consistently. Those late night pizza or burrito binges definitely started to catch up to me senior year.

After college graduation I knew it was finally time to get back to some sort of physical fitness. I didn’t have enough money to maintain a gym membership {hello, broke-just-out-of-college-with-no-big-girl-job lifestyle}. So I decided to start running. Which, I’ll be totally honest, I was the person in high school who would barely run the mile in gym class, I hated it that much.

But running outside in the winter typically poses a problem for those of us in the Midwest {polar vortex anyone?}. By this time though, I did have a big-girl job and was taking fitness classes that were provided by the company. I loved them! A combination of weights and cardio were becoming my new best friend.

Fast-forward four years, and I found myself at a job that had the tiniest gym. I made it work for awhile, mainly utilizing workouts I could print off of Pinterest. Again, that combination of either weights and cardio, or body weight were so great!

Fast-forward another few years where I started doing Tone It Up workouts in our basement, then started going to a gym for about 6 months, and then back to running outside.

Overall, my fitness routine has led me back and forth from gyms to at-home workouts. I always felt pretty fit, but it honestly wasn’t until August 2018 that I really started to hit my stride with an at home workout plan that seriously changed my weight loss and toned me from head to toe.

I feel like I can say from head to toe in this instance because I could even see my face starting to “tone”. I tend to carry a lot of extra weight in my face, and it wasn’t until I started comparing pictures, that I noticed even my face was starting to tone.

So you’re probably wondering, what the heck is this at home workout plan that made such a big difference in her life? Is it really going to make that much of a difference in my life?

The plan is Beachbody, and yes, I am positive it’s going to make a huge difference in your life!

At home workout plan: how Beachbody can change your health

First things first here, any type of fitness is extremely important for our overall health. Currently only a little more than 20% of US adults meet aerobic and muscle strength guidelines. Which means that there’s a huge percentage that’s hardly physically active. Which is likely also contributing to so many health problems around the country.

So while I’m encouraging Beachbody because it has been such a game changer in my health and fitness journey, just know that any type of movement for 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week is going to help you meet those guidelines.

The reason, though, that Beachbody has been such a game changer for me is because they have so many different complete programs you can follow. The programs are specially designed to work certain muscle groups in certain orders to make sure you’re getting the most out of each workout every time.

When there’s a plan to follow, it makes it so much easier to stick to it. For instance, one of my favorites is called Transform 20. It’s six weeks of 20 minute workouts for six days a week.

Each morning, I know what workout is coming next. Knowing what’s next helps me stay super consistent in my workouts. I know that all I have to do is follow the workout calendar that’s provided, and I know the instructor on the TV is going to push me work harder than I may have by just following the printed Pinterest workout.

It’s like being in your own mini class with the instructor and others who are doing the workout right along with you. I constantly feel motivated to go press play on the workout because I know what’s coming up, and that there’s a team behind me cheering me on.

At home workout plan: the Beachbody community

A lot of people have asked me how I stay motivated to workout when I’m doing it by myself at home. That they surely couldn’t be as consistent if they weren’t going to a gym or having someone tell them what to do. Or that they need to have people around them to push themselves a little bit harder. Or that they like the community of a gym too much.

Well, I think I already covered that no matter what program you choose to start with Beachbody, there’s always an instructor motivating and telling you what to do.

When it comes to having a community, Beachbody is one of the biggest communities I think I know. My coach has a community of 55 women who motivate and lift each other up every single day.

Even in my own Facebook community, there are 22 women who come together to talk about their health and fitness journey. So while we’re not physically with each other each and every day, the community that is Beachbody is absolutely incredible.

Not to mention, the amount of women I’ve met through social media who absolutely love Beachbody and the transformations it’s helped them make in their lives. It’s incredible to talk with these women and hear their stories too!

At home workout plan: Beachbody and mindset

I think this is one thing that really sets Beachbody apart is its focus on mindset and personal development.

When I first joined, I was blown away by the fact that personal development was one of their four pillars of helping you on your health and fitness journey.

So often we see losing weight and toning or getting fit as only exercise and eating well. But there is so much more to it than that.

Your mind plays such a huge role in whether or not you’ll start to see success {anywhere in life really}. So Beachbody’s encouragement of personal development and getting into a healthy mindset that’s going to propel your goals forward was something I truly appreciated.
