Cap’n Crunch krispie treats are the perfect summer dessert. Using Cap’n Crunch in this quick krispie treats recipe is a fun new take on the classic.
Rice krispie treats have always been one of my favorite desserts. I love the gooey marshmallow and crunchy cereal.
But sometimes you have to switch things up a little and try out some new cereal choices.
Enter the Cap’n Crunch krispie treats.
These thick krispie treats are the perfect summer dessert because they take literally no time to put together. Are a no-bake treat, and I mean, who doesn’t love Cap’n Crunch?
Two Simple Steps to Cap’n Crunch Krispie Treats
1. The Gooey Factor
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past, I don’t know how many years, you know that krispie treats are made with butter, marshmallows and some form of cereal.
I feel like I’ve finally perfected the gooey part when it comes to these summer-time treats.
It takes just a little bit of butter and a whole lot of marshmallow.
Melt in a giant pot over medium heat. This part is important too because you don’t want to burn the marshmallows. We want the perfect gooey-ness to the marshmallows.
Stir the gooey factor into the Cap’n Crunch cereal. Time for another giant bowl for this one.
Winston got quite a few little nibbles on this one because my bowl wasn’t quite big enough. So noted for you, and the next time I make these Cap’n Crunch krispie treats is to have the biggest bowl possible.
2. Press Treats and Enjoy
This treats recipe is seriously that simple. All you have to do now is press your ooey gooey mixture into a greased pan.
The best way I’ve found is to spray your spatula with cooking spray and then press the krispie treats into the pan.
Just let the treats sit for about 10 minutes before slicing and enjoying. This gives them time to become all solidified, gooey and tasty.
I just love the combination of melty marshmallow and Cap’n Crunch. It takes this classic to the next level, and I guarentee everyone is going to love noshing on these treats whether poolside or backyard BBQ.
