With these warmer months Kennedy and I have been enjoying some walks early in the morning. Soon we’ll be going for some runs, and I can’t wait for it!

After our walks I love to enjoy this healthy red velvet smoothie.

It’s so simple to make, and takes just a few ingredients to make it taste just like you’re drinking a piece of red velvet cake.

I love how thick and creamy it is, but it helps keep my body running in tip-top shape so that I can be there for Kennedy in the best way possible.

5 Minutes to a Healthy Red Velvet Smoothie

Because I went back to work recently and I have drop-off duty for daycare, it’s important that I have a super fast breakfast that I can drink while getting ready. Or to take with me on the way to daycare and work.

Thankfully this smoothie literally takes five minutes to throw together.

A high powered blender is a necessity to make sure it blends everything to a super smooth consistency.

This healthy red velvet smoothie takes frozen strawberries for natural sweetness, and the perfect red color.

Toss in a small banana, which creates that nice thick, creamy texture.

So many smoothies typically include fresh spinach, but typically that ruins the whole color of the smoothie. Instead, I opt for frozen cauliflower.

Don’t shy away from frozen cauliflower in your smoothie. It adds that healthy veg, but it totally flavorless.

Finally, a little cocoa powder for the quintessential red velvet flavor, and your favorite vanilla protein powder.

All that’s left is to blend this smoothie to cool creamy perfection and pour into your favorite cup and enjoy.

Holiday Ready Red Velvet Smoothie

I always want to start my morning off right when the holidays are involved. It sets a base for a healthy day, and keeps me full without feeling ravenous right before all the festivities begin.

Plus, what better way to start your day than with a taste of cake?
