Piece of Cake 001

Piece of Cake 001: Hello sweet treat lovers! I wanted to start sharing a monthly recap, aptly titled: Piece of Cake. Here I’ll share monthly favorites, including things like new healthy products or recipes, workout routines or clothing, beauty products and anything else that might have been of excitement during the month.

Piece of Cake: Nourish

I keep seeing these ‘nourish bowls’ at the grocery store, and saw one at our Super Target last night while grocery shopping. I decided to pick up this sesame sriracha bowl, and boy was it good! If you’re looking for an easy lunch or dinner for one, this is perfect. Add your favorite protein and you have a complete meal in under 5 minutes. There are a few other flavors I’d love to try, including: Cauli-Rice Curry, Southwest Chipotle and Monterey Risotto.

If your cookie craving strikes {which mine seems to do on a daily basis} I’ve been wanting to try these Carrot Cookies with Orange Icing. Maybe give them a try as a healthy Easter dessert option?

Piece of Cake: Work It Out

Can you just feel Spring getting closer? We seem to continue to get glimpses of it, and then just as quickly they seem to disappear. I’m trying to will Spring weather with my clothing choices. Particularly with this Fabletics outfit below. If you haven’t signed up for Fabletics, you’re truly missing out! I LOVE all of their workout clothes and have {probably} too many to count. {But shhh, don’t tell Burken!}

And in case you need a little motivation, sooo many of you have been pinning this 6 Best HIIT Workouts Under 20 Minutes. Most of the workouts are actually under 15 minutes. So now there’s no excuse. You {will} have cute workout clothes and a super fast workout video to follow along to. Go sweat it out!

Piece of Cake: Lookin’ Good

When it comes to skincare, I think we’ve probably all tried just about everything to get that soft, smooth skin. But I think I may have finally found the magic potion. In a $7 jar of all places. This Ponds dark spot corrector cream has made my skin so silky and smooth in just one month. The texture difference from four weeks ago is crazy. For just $7, this is likely the least expensive cream you will ever spend your moolah on.

My new favorite pair of heels: these Fergalicious block heels. Since it’s not quite warm enough to wear full on summer wedges, I’m sufficing with peep toe. They’re also super comfortable, which may seem like an oxymoron for heels, but they’re so great. But I’m also really loving this mule style as well.

If you’re in the market for flats {which let’s be honest, who isn’t ever in the market for flats}, these feel like butter on your feet. I passed on buying these, but I think I may have to go back for them! Pink shoes are soo in right now, so if you’re looking for a less expensive option, check out these Target sneakers. Super cute and really comfortable!

Piece of Cake: One Last Slice

New favorite song: Shawn Mendes, “In My Blood”. The chores is the bomb.com

What I’m reading: our book club chose “I’ll be gone in the dark” by Michelle McNamara. It’s about a woman who became obsessed with the Golden State Killer and trying to track him down. I feel like it reads more as fiction even though it’s a True Crime novel. Working through staying awake while reading, but a good book so far.

What you’ve loved this month: Peach Upside Down Cake! I posted this cake last year, but had made it for a friends Easter get together. It continues to be a top recipe on the blog. Check it out if you forgot about it, and make it for your Easter gathering.

Have a great Easter, and I’ll see you at the end of April for another fun recap!
