Piece of Cake 014

This month has honestly been a doozy! I’m so, so excited for what May is to bring, but I am incredibly grateful for what April offered {even if it was snow on Saturday}.

So let’s just dive right in to all the goodness that was April!

Piece of Cake: New Journeys

Last month I told you all that I was on the hunt for a new job/career and that I had been having a ton of interviews.

Well, I’m excited to announce that I’ve accepted a position! It’s in the social media realm and here in Madison, and I’ll tell you all more later, but that’s all I can say about it at this point.

Make sure to follow me on Facebook or Instagram to hear where and exactly what I’ll be doing later this week.

Our IVF journey is well under way, and going really well. I’m seeing my doctor every two days to keep track of how the eggs/follicles are growing.

Every day is somewhere between 2-3 shots that I administer to myself. They haven’t been too bad, and the worst I’ve felt is tired and bloated. I’ll definitely take those feelings over anything else!

I’ve also been seeing an acupuncturist here in Madison who specializes in infertility, and is just all around an amazing human. If you live in the Madison area and are looking for the most thorough acupuncturist, you need to check out Kathleen with Metamorphosis Holistic Health.

Piece of Cake: Piece of Mind

Last month I talked a bit about the mindful eating program I’m working on, and have decided to name it Piece of Mind: a mindful eating program to provide you peace of mind with food, health and wellness.

I’m still finishing up the program materials, which I’m super excited about! Honestly, I think this program is just what many of you could use in your life.

There are 12 weekly video modules that go over the ins and outs of mindful eating and how to best practice it. I’ve also included five 1:1 coaching sessions to help you dig deep into your feelings around food, and start to remove many of the diet culture feelings you may have experienced throughout your life.

I’ll be sending out an email to those of you on my email list to give you first dibs on the program, and an incredible discount. So if you’re not already on the list, make sure you are!

This link will also give you access to a FREE Mindful Eating Beginners Guide. It will walk you through the first three steps to learning how to eat mindfully.

Piece of Cake: Fitness

If you have been following me on Facebook or the ‘Gram, you know that I’ve taken a little break from working out these past two weeks.

It’s honestly been really hard for me, but I’m trying to give my body some time off so that it can really focus on growing all those amazing eggs.

I’ll be back at it, with doctor’s approval of course, once our egg retrieval takes place.

One of my favorite workouts lately has been these 20 minute workouts you might have seen me post in the past.

They’re seriously so incredible, and I’ve watched so many friends use it to go from post baby belly to some pretty amazing looking abs. Just check out my coach and her transformation. I know what I’ll be using after pregnancy!

The best part is that they can be done at home any time of the day. You don’t have to conform to a class time, and they’re made for all fitness levels. So even if you don’t think you can do them, I promise that you can! You just have to give yourself a shot.

If you’re ready to get in shape for summer, the program is only 6 weeks long, and will have you feeling incredible right around Memorial Day. You can get signed up here, or send me a message and we’ll chat about what’s the best option for you.

What I’ve been Loving

Honestly, this month has been pretty low key for me since I’ve been heavily focused on letting my body relax and prep for egg retrieval.

But, there are a few things that I’ve been loving, or have been hanging out on my wish list for awhile.

I just bought these jeans from Target on Friday. They’re insanely comfortable, have the perfect amount of rip to them, and are ridiculously reasonable for a pair of jeans.

While on the topic of jeans, I have a serious obsession over this jean jacket from Madewell. I’ve been eyeing it for months now, just waiting for it to go on sale. It’s seriously the softest denim you may ever feel.

My last love for this month is my protein powder. I mean honestly, it’s so much more than any ole protein powder. It’s got so many pre and probiotics in it, not to mention a good serving of fruits and veggies. It’s been helping keep me in shape and keep my protein intake up while I haven’t been working out.

What You’ve Been Loving

With Easter having been this month, it’s no surprise that the mini carrot bundt cakes made it to the top.

One of Burken’s all time favorite cookies slid into second place this month. Also no surprise since the photo is centered around Easter colored M&Ms. But you should seriously make these cookies. The softest cookies you will ever eat!

Last but not least, these healthy gluten free monster cookies. Oh my gosh, these ones will knock your socks off! If you’ve never had a monster cookie, you definitely need to get to making them. This version uses no butter, and they’re also gluten free.

Well, that wraps up the month of April. Let’s hope there’s no more snow in our future, and just gorgeous weather and lots of sunshine.
