Happy end of January I Only Came for the Cake followers!
This month has been packed with a whole lot of goodness, and basically all baby related.
Which is really no surprise because we’re drawing even closer to baby girl‘s due date!
Piece of Cake: Baby Girl Update
It’s crazy to think that in less than three weeks we’ll be meeting our beautiful baby girl. My actual due date is February 19th, but we’ll see when this little bundle of joy wants to make her apperance.
Either way, you’ll be seeing lots of baby pictures come February’s Piece of Cake update!
The first weekend in January we celebrated my baby shower. My mom and mother-in-law hosted a beautiful shower. We went a little unconventional, and had an open house shower.
No games, no opening presents. Two things I didn’t want to do during my shower. Everyone brought their gift unwrapped so that others could see the cute baby clothes or toys, etc.
The following weekend we hosted a diaper keg at our house. Essentially we bought a whole bunch of beer and drinks and our friends came over with a package of diapers. This was so much fun, and a great way to kind of have one last big party before she comes.
We have also attended a labor and delivery class, which was very beneficial. The car seat is all installed and ready to go for when baby girl makes her arrival.
The nursery is also all set up, and I couldn’t be happier with it. It turned out just as I had imagined!
There are a few people who know the name we’ve chosen, but I’m going to keep it a secret on here, until she actually comes. As you can see from the pictures though, it’s going to start with a ‘K’. So I’ll keep you in suspense mode! 🙂
Piece of Cake: Your Piece of Mind
If you’ve been following me on social channels like Instagram or Facebook, then you’ve likely, at some point, heard about Piece of Mind.
This brand new membership experience launched in December, but with the holidays, I thought why not start fresh with 2020?
Piece of Mind Squad is a total membership experience that focuses on learning how to eat intuitively. But we take it one step further with group or individual coaching.
I truly believe that the coaching is what makes such a huge difference in mindful eating.
So many women have these constant thoughts of fear around food. Being obsessed with food, and not in a good way.
The worst part is that most of them don’t even realize they are actually fearful of food. Or they don’t recognize the obsession that’s keeping them stuck.
That’s why I talk so much about Piece of Mind Squad and intuitive eating. It’s because I’ve been in that position before. Constantly counting my points when I was on Weight Watchers. Fearful of eating foods that were off the plan. Obsessed with how many calories I was taking in. Constantly saying “I’ll do better next week.”
We’ve come to believe that all of these feelings are normal, but they’re not. So again, that’s why Piece of Mind Squad was created. Was to strike a balance between the tactical of learning what intuitive eating actually is. Plus the emotional support that’s needed when you finally stop dieting.
I’m still offering an incredible discount to the membership experience, but not for much longer. So hop into the Squad, or on a short 15 minute call with me if you want to know more about how this could fit into your life.
Piece of Cake: One Last Slice
What I’m Loving
These pajama pants from Target. They’re soo cozy, and make for the perfect pair of sweatpants. I will definitely be living in these once baby girl is here.
I’ve been obsessed with finding snake skin booties, and found a pair over on Amazon. These booties are amazing, and I get so many compliments on them.
A super random one, but this cauliflower gnocchi from Green Giant. It tastes just like the real deal, but made with cauliflower instead of potato. Definitely give it a try! You should be able to find it in the frozen section.
What You’re Loving
Some of the usuals have made it to the top, but there were also some surprises.
Brownie Batter Dessert Hummus: if you’re looking for a healthy dessert dip to take to a party, this is it! I know it might sound weird, but definitely give it a try.
Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Bites: these babies are soo addicting. I couldn’t stop dipping them in the glaze. They’re baked, not fried, and they’re also gluten free. Oh, and require no yeast.
Healthy Peanut Butter Granola Cups: one of my favorite snacks! I modeled them after the Nature Valley granola cups, but these are soo much better!
And that wraps up our January Piece of Cake post! It’s hard to believe that next month will be all about baby girl, but I’m so excited and ready! I’ll chat with you then!
